Leidy and Juan’s Wedding
They were married on January 13th, with a ceremony at the St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church on Miami Beach, FL and a the reception was at the Ancient Spanish Monastery.
The monastery was a breathtaking backdrop for Leidy and Juan’s wedding, with the feeling of the Old World transported onto the New World to give the whole celebration a unique atmosphere. In fact, the monastery was actually built in Spain hundreds of years ago and was then brought over to the United States brick by brick in the twentieth century to be rebuilt here in North Miami Beach.
We started the day with Leidy at a nearby hotel. The more contemporary look and feel of these “getting ready” images of Leidy and her bridesmaids was a beautiful contrast to the more formal pictures later at the church and Spanish Monastery.
Even with the amazing wedding photography opportunities the church and monastery offered us, the focus of the day never strayed from the importance of the union and promises that Leidy and Juan made to each other.
There was so much symbolism in the ceremony as well as in the celebrations afterwards. When the ceremony concluded, doves were released in celebration. Their family and friends surrounded the happy couple and there was so much joy. Leidy and Juan looked so happy and so much in love throughout the entire day.
It’s always a treat to photograph weddings in locations like this, because there is never a shortage of stunning backdrops or interesting details for us to focus on. From the lush greens of the gardens to the elegant archways in the Loggia, the Ancient Spanish Monastery was a beautiful backdrop the Leidy and Juan’s reception. With the right venue, any wedding can feel like a fairy tale—but this is especially true of places like this that feel like you have stepped back in time.
Juan & Leidy, thank you for allowing us to be part of your beautiful day. We wish you nothing but happiness in your lives together.
